We want everyone who visits the Fairhaven website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding.
What are we doing?
To help us make the Fairhaven website a positive place for everyone, we’ve been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone.
The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We are working to Level AA.
Let us know what you think
If you enjoyed using the Fairhaven website, have a suggestion for improvement or had an issue using any part of it, please get in touch. We’d like to hear from you in any of the following ways:
Did you know that you can increase the magnification of fonts on any website?
Using a PC, hold down the CTRL key and press the (+) key to increase or the (–) key to decrease font size.
Using a Mac, hold down the Command key and press (+) key to increase or the (–) key to decrease font size.
The ‘b‘ icon in the orange circle at the top of the screen on all our web pages will enable BrowseAloud software.
This plug-in is designed to provide a better experience for all our website visitors. It offers a range of functions to assist people who may find it difficult to read text online, those who may have literacy problems, or those with learning disabilities such as dyslexia.
Use BrowseAloud like an online screen reader if you prefer to listen to the information on our website rather than read it. It is special software which reads the text on the screen and speaks those words to you out loud.
When it is running, you simply need to move the mouse over some text on our web page, select the icon that appears and the text is read out to you.
BrowseAloud is only a text reader and should not be confused with screen reading software for people with visual impairment. This is because it requires some degree of vision and the ability to move the mouse pointer.
