July/August 2019 Update:

What a fabulous couple of months we’ve had here at Fairhaven! In line with our commitment to improving Aboriginal employment and our relationships with local Aboriginal communities, and to coincide with NAIDOC Week, we planned and opened an Aboriginal Art Gallery between the Café and Op Shop in the Point Clare Shopping Village.

We also worked with Mingaletta and The Glen to attract local Aboriginal artists who are exhibiting their work in the gallery. On Saturday 13 July, we hosted the gallery opening event, with a Welcome to Country followed by weaving and painting workshops by the Mingaletta Aunties.

The Official Launch of the Fairhaven Aboriginal Art Gallery.

On Saturday July 13, to celebrate the close of NAIDOC week for 2019, we officially launched our new Aboriginal art gallery at Point Clare.

The morning began with Auntie Colleen giving a ‘Welcome to Country,’ followed by our CEO, Monique Cardon, who shared about NAIDOC Week and our commitment as an organisation.

Thank you to all who came out and to the team at Fairhaven, Mingaletta and our friends at The Glen who helped us put this stunning Gallery together.
