Fairhaven has a range of life-skill support options to assist people living with disability. We focus on the goals and aspirations of each person encouraging you in making your own choices to increase your independence.
Our team
Fairhaven’s team of qualified support staff are highly skilled professionals who value and respect people’s abilities, and encourage clients to achieve personal goals. We practise a flexible and creative approach to learning while working collaboratively with families and carers.
Community supports and life skills
We focus on individual needs and goals to ensure people increase their independence and are better connected within their communities. To connect with us and browse through some of the activities we support, go to our Community website.
Meeting individual needs:
- Health and wellbeing eg learning to ride a horse or how to swim
- Living skills eg cooking or menu planning
- Training eg learning to use a computer or to write a letter.
Individual support in:
- Entertainment outings
- Accessing indoor and outdoor activities
- Going to cinemas
- Going to the footy
- Seeing a concert
- Visiting clubs
- Bike riding.
Community Hub activities
Our weekly activities program has been designed to develop skills, promote self-confidence and build social networks. Sessions are led by experienced facilitators in the friendly, supportive environment of the Community Hub building at our site at Point Clare. Hub activities are designed for people 18+ with all levels of ability, including if you have an NDIS Plan.
